Repeatable Look

Crawl Space Encapsulation® is often done by a homeowner only once, so there is a lack of experience but not a lack of wanting it done right. SnapEncap™ can easily be installed with two people and get better then professional results. Once installed, the attachment and seal will be uniform and not only function extremely well but look great too.

Reinstall the same vapor barrier without damage

With a traditional vapor barrier installation is that it is meant to be permanent. This causes a problem for a homeowner when a home has a termite problem, sewer back up, flood or needs repairs/improvements that must be installed under the vapor barrier like a soil gas mitigation or a sump pump system. The only option is to tear out the barrier, do the repair and re-encapsulate and this gets expensive quick.

With the SnapEncap™ you will always have the option of removing the "Molding" (the top part of the system) and pulling back the vapor barrier to complete the repair or termite treatment and reinstalling the Molding using the same vapor barrier. This is done with very little effort and no damage to the barrier, keeping the integrity of the seal intact.

Replacement

If a sewer backs up, floods or some other reason the vapor barrier needs to be replaced then the SnapEncap™ make the replacement faster and easier because the attachment system is already installed. Simply remove the damage barrier and bring in the new, lay it out, snap it back into the SnapEncap™, trim the excess and your done.

Selling your house and your crawl space is encapsulated? Thats a good thing right? Not if the home inspector wants to inspect the foundation for cracks or other damage or the termite inspection is only good for what they can see. The only way to see the foundation is to remove the barrier and now you can without damage.

SnapEncap™ prevents this kind of waste because it allows your installer to gently remove the top molding of the system which releases the vapor barrier without damage. For a Termite treatment, an inspection or a foundation repair you will no longer have to bear the cost of having your crawl space re-encapsulated.

How it works

The top ledge is meant for foam board insulation to rest and when used with our patent pending insulation bracket (sold separately) you will only need two screws to fasten the insulation. This method allows for the insulation board to be installed without glue or permanent fasteners making it removable as well.

The L hooks hold the vapor barrier from unwanted release and works better with thicker floor barrier. The longer L on the right keeps the barrier from pulling out if someone knees too close, but the smaller L on top will allow for the vapor barrier to be released when pulled out and down.

The space the vapor barrier travels through creates a U shaped seal, trapping the moisture under the SnapEncap™. When installing you can improve the moisture seal by using the Foundation Seal Tape™ on the back of the SnapEncap™ or you can use caulk where the SnapEncap™ and the wall meet.
