Not all liners offered on the internet in the 20 mil crawl space vapor barrier class are approved for use in a Crawl Space Encapsulation®. GuardianLiner® has met the strict criteria to provide a Do It Once™ installation. GuardianLiner® meets the following standards:

Best Uses for 20 Mil GuardianLiner®
Location
GuardianLiner® is a versatile and high performance product used for moisture control on both the floor and walls of a crawl space. When used as a floor liner it is very comfortable to crawl on and strong enough to prevent punctures and holes from crawl traffic. Often there is a concern of mold or mildew growth on a moisture barrier used in a crawl space. GuardianLiner® offers a defense to that concern as every roll is made with an anti-fungal additive. This additive is in both the top (white) and bottom (tan) layer for maximum protection. If you are looking for a product to use on the walls, take a look at GuardianLiner® 12 mil vapor barrier.
Thickness
Measuring across the surface of this vapor barrier it will read 20 Mil thick or 0.020". When you measure between the reinforcement it will read 16 mil or 0.016". GuardianLiner® 20 mil was made to compete against all other 20 mil moisture barriers in the market and therefore made to the same thickness. If you are looking for an actual thickness 20 mil vapor barrier, there is only one SilverBack®.
Testing
Having any product installed inside your home can be a health risk to your family if the product was not manufactured for this use. Vapor barriers are no exception, especially when used in the crawl space. All manufacturing runs of GuardianLiner® are tested at an independent laboratory to meet or exceed the Tested Pure™ protocol. This means NO off gassing, NO VOC's and absolutely NO odors. Once testing is completed/passed we fold, cut and package each roll. As these rolls come off the packaging line we give each one a unique serial number called a CSRID that is trackable back to manufacturing and includes the lab testing data. You will find your CSRID on your packing slip as well as stored in your user account at CrawlSpaceRepair.com.
Construction
The top and bottom layer are made from blown film and bonded together over a polyester reinforcement string using molten polyethylene resin. This process makes the 3 layers into 1 inseparable layer. The reinforcement is 1000 Denier and is often used in rugged outdoor fabric. Each blown film layer has an anti-fugal treatment added to it to enhance the polyethylene's natural ability to prevent mold and mildew growth. The white layer has a UV inhibitor to protect it from UV light.
Application
GuardianLiner® 20 Mil can be installed directly on top of the soil or on an underlayment like the Felt550® or IDS® Soil Mat. The main application for this vapor barrier is to be installed in a crawl space encapsulation setting. The vapor barrier should be limited to 18-24 months of direct exposure to sun light. The white side is treated with a 2% UV inhibitor to protect the polyethylene from degradation for that period. In the application of an encapsulated crawl space where UV sunlight has been eliminated this product will deliver a 30+ year service life. When used in an open or "modified crawl space", steps should be taken to prevent UV exposure.

Orientation
Either side, white or tan, can be installed facing the soil.
Product Size
20 Mil GuardianLiner® comes in one size, 13'4" wide by 75' long. Making it ideal for most cement block crawl spaces and crawl spaces with a 12' span to the center support.
Roll Size
This product is folded in half and rolled on a cardboard tube. The shipping dimensions are 87" long by 10" round.
Weight
This roll weighs approximately 90 pounds including the cardboard core and packaging material.
Shipping
This product generally qualifies for FREE shipping. It will ship the most economical way available. This DOES NOT mean it will take a long time or it will not be treated carefully. It means it may ship UPS or FEDEX at our discretion. Depending on the order size it may ship on a pallet by freight. If you cannot take freight or do not want it ship freight then you will have the option to pay the difference and have it shipped by anyone you wish. Pick up is always available.
Seam
There is a welded seam at the 6'9" mark (middle) running the entire 75' length. This seam is completely waterproof and does not affect performance or visual appeal. The welded seam will look better than most tape seams. This welded seam is what allows the width to reach 13'4".

GuardianLiner® comes with a 30 year warranty against manufacturer defects. Each roll is automatically registered when you supply the installation address at checkout.
