Product was just as advertised. Received in just a few days and was a breeze to install.
looks tough and much better than plastic film.
Used this product to encapsulate an 18 x 24 foot area in a new construction crawl space. The overall task was easy and the finished product looks great! I used white Gorilla tape to seal - matched perfectly and was more economical than some of the other tapes. Was also able to roll up on the walls to attach Silverback to the wall instillation. In total it took me a 3 hours, but most of the time was to move household items while installing the product.
I bought the 12mil silverback to cover my taller basement walls and the 20mil silver back to cover the crawl space area. Both products were great and I'd definitely recommend paying the little bit extra for the 20mil if it'll be going over anything uneven or if, like me, you put storage bins in the area you're covering. While the 12mil is nice and durable and good for walls, the 20mil is much more sturdy and a better fit for tear resistance. Great products, though! The vapor barriers came rolled up and the other parts (I used the pins + seem tape) were in a box. Everything was included and the install was super easy.
Took on a 2400 Square foot encapsulation of my homes crawlspace. Was overwhelming at first but the material quote and outstanding assistance from Larry took majority of the guess work out. Went with 12 mil silverback reinforced poly for the walls and pillars and 20 mil silverback reinforced poly for the floors. 90 pint dehumidifier and pump. Material quote was spot on with just enough material for the job. Entire job took 2 months working at my leisure with the help of my father. Wood moisture readings previous to encapsulation were 18-25% with humidity readings of 80-85% . Wood readings post encapsulation are now as low as 6% some places and cant find a reading over 15% anywhere. Humidity is now steady at 53% with the dehumidifier cycling on and off. Highly recommend fan kit to improve dehumidifier efficiency. This job is not for a first time DIY person but someone with average skills can be successful. I saved about $15,000 by doing this job myself.
