Larry really simplified a job that I thought was going to be a nightmare. At his suggestion, I encapsulated my crawl space with the 20 Mil SilverBack™ and added an AprilAire dehumidifier. Now I am one happy, satisfied customer because there is no more water running off ducting and I finally have a crawl space that is dry.
HORRIBLE JOB!! But, that's certainly not the fault of Crawl Space Repair. Their products are very well suited for their intended use. I used 6 mil on the walls and 12 on the floor. i worked about 2-3 hours a day, 4 days a week on this project, and IT IS FINALLY DONE. The difference in humidity is unmistakable. You won't realize how damp your crawlspace is until you've sealed it. I still have some work to do, but the plastic is all down and the atmosphere under my house is greatly improved. Good products, FAST shipping.
Very pleased with the outcome of this project...This is a very superior product and the help I got in picking out the product was very very helpful
I recently chose to encapsulate my crawl space myself after monitoring the humidity with a wireless hydrometer and discovering that the humidity can reach as high as 84% on certain days. I had several professional companies come out to quote the job...needless to say, way over priced. So, I did it myself using products from Crawlspace Repair. ALL of their products are super and make the job as easy as possible. Tough, durable and great instructions. Today, with benefit of dehumidifier, my crawl space is a constant maximum of 50% humidity and I am glad I did the project. Now, a number of my neighbors have expressed an interest in doing the same thing! It "ain't rocket science"....you CAN DIY this project and save thousands. Just need patience (and a good back)!!
I was surprised how well it stuck to the cinder block wall. Our crawl space was quite dusty before the liner was applied. It can be unforgiving if you need to pull the liner off the tape in order to smooth out wrinkles as you are moving along the wall. As indicated in the video only apply a small length of liner to the tape at any one time to minimize wrinkling of the liner.
