I was very impressed with the fast shipping. I had a question about installation prior to receiving the unit, and received a fast answer via email. It's too soon to rate the durability of the unit, having only owned it for a couple of weeks. I had to give a rating of the durability in order to submit my review, so I gave the unit 3 stars. Hopefully, it will earn a 5-star rating over the coming years. The unit comes with a 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. I've purchased several dehumidifiers from the big box stores, and those units typically last one year. I'm hopeful that the Moisture Medic lasts a long time and continues to maintain the proper moisture level in my crawl space.
Product received exactly as specified; easy to install, great warranty......can’t rate durability as it is just installed
I purchased the unit and received it 2 days later. Plugged it in and was dehumidifying my basement that same day. The unit is very well built and easy to operate. I had a question about the wiring of the external condensate pump, called AprilAire's service and they answered my questions the same day. I am confident the unit will work well for years to come and am considering buying a second one for a rental property crawlspace.
So far this unit appears to be doing the trick. We have a fairly large walk in crawl space and in NC, that means a humid space. In the past year, I've had to replace the HVAC unit in the crawl, partially because of age (20 years) and partially because it was rusting out due to the humidity. With that large investment, I wanted something that would keep the humidity under control. Along with this dehumidifier, I also closed off all of the crawl space vents and now it maintains a very nice 55% humidity level. I elevated the unit so I could gravity drain the water into the piping for the A/C drain and everything is working as it should. Hoping the unit performs in the summer when the humidity is up...time will tell.
For anyone wondering, yes it's really made by AprilAire. The box that mine came in was clearly marked as a E070cc and included their installation instructions and warranty - plus an addendum about the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. It's knocked the humidity down a *lot* and we can't hear it in the house at all. FWIW, there was a small problem with my CC for this order that came up just hours before they were to close for a holiday weekend. The crawlspacerepair.com service people both called and emailed me so that we could get things cleared up and the dehumidifier shipped that day. I was really pleased with the customer service.
