I'm sealing the crawl space on a new house under construction. I applied the tape and vinyl liner to the foundation walls prior to the wood floor system being installed. I made sure there wasn't any blobs of mortar in the way of the tape. The block was dry so the tape had good bonding strength. The excellent adhesive strength of the tape allowed me to install the tape along the entire wall section (60')and then hang the vinyl prior to drilling for the pins. Two days later I noticed the tape pulling away from the block in some of the corners. Since I had ordered extra foundation pins, I went back and installed pins closer in the corners as well as in between all of the original pins. Therefore, pins are every foot along the walls. I feel confident the vinyl will not come down now.
I had ordered the Foundation Tape Seal and the seam tape to encapsulate my crawlspace. I did not order enough and thought I went to the same place to order more but it was definitely not the same product! The butyl tape from the other company did not stick as well even after rubbing it hard multiple times. The tape from the crawlspace repair stuck the first time. Also, on the other crawlspace companies tape I was able to lift the vapor barrier off to reposition it several times. I did not get the feeling that the tape was going to hold the vapor barrier up down the road. Save yourself the worry and buy this tape but make sure where you stick it and what you stick to it is where you want it. It definitely will stay where you put it!
This product is great stuff. it is super sticky and as long as you follow their directions it will really stick to concrete of cinder blocks good. Some rimes it was so sticky is was hard to get it off my fingers. Great product.
easy to use, great product
This two sided tape really holds. It sticks like super glue to any surface, i.e., fingers, scissors, etc. But it really held the vapor barrier to the block.
