I cannot believe how well this tape holds. I used it to tape my vapor barrier to cement. The only warning is that it is so powerful that you don't get a second chance if you mess up. Anyway, this tape is well worth it.
I had much difficulty in using this tape. it would not stick to the cement block due to a slight moisture on it. the job was under my cabin. I have dirt floors. I had to avoid using it.
The tape did just what it was promised to do. I followed the directions of sweeping off the surface of my crawlspace brick and pushing the tape onto it firmly. It held. And when I peeled off the craft paper backing the next day, the tape was sticky enough to hold the moisture barrier until I could install the pins.
I used Foundation Seal Tape to seal the existing vapor barrier in my crawlspace to the concrete side wall. Now I have as close as a person can get to a completely sealed crawlspace floor. In the spring and fall our water table comes up and makes the ground moist. Now I have a complete seal. Product was very easy to install. It stuck well to the concrete wall and the plastic sticks to the tape very very well. I have checked out the "stickyness" after one month and the tape is doing its job great. No releasing anywhere. In reality, it seems like it has a better grip now than the day I installed it. I can lightly pull on the plastic and the plastic will not come off the tape, and the tape will not come off of the concrete. So, Foundation Seal Tape works as the company says it will. I recommend this product to anyone wanting a total vapor seal in their crawlspace. MP North Idaho
This stuff is very sticky. So don't let it stick to itself. But when I installed my vapor barrier, the tape did not stay stuck to the block wall. You'll need to install Crawl Space Foundation pins as you go to keep it from falling. I will probably have use some polyurethane caulk to seal the top edge of my vapor barrier where the seal tape did not seal.
