We used this with the felt mat also available on this site. So far we have installed the barrier only on the floor and we plan to install rigid insulation on the walls next weekend. The musty smell in the basement is greatly reduced already and the whole house smells better even though we haven't finished the entire project yet.

I am very happy with this liner. Combined with the foundation seal tape and the seam tape I was able to encapsulate my crawl space for 1/10th the price I was quoted by a local company. I had to level some dirt myself, but once that was done, this liner was great to work with. I wish you could smell my crawlspace now- it smells like nothing! beautiful, fresh, nothing!

This stuff is sticky and will adhere to even the most dusty of foundation walls. I'm not sure what's recommended for cutting it, but I used a new pair of scissors that I intended to discard after the project and that worked well. Be advised that once your vapor barrier is placed against it, you are pretty much committed - trying to pull the barrier off the tape after it has been in contact with it for just a few seconds will pull the tape from the wall.

Out of all of the products we have researched, this is the best option for stone foundations we have found, as well as the most cost effective. Easy to work with. There has been a noticeable difference in the air quality since it has been installed and we are only half finished! It has eliminated nearly all of the musty, basement odor. In the past, we have tried ionizers (which only masked the smell), and de-humidifiers, which helped but could not entirely remedy the situation.
