Order only took 1 week to arrive. 12 mil for bottom, and piers. 6 mil for walls. I have a micrometer tester and the thickness is right on. The length, however, is about 2-3 inches short of the listed length of 13'4". I'd give higher rating after it's actually installed. I have plenty of interesting decisions to make. This is my approach: 1. Using the longest sheets as I can and cutting minimally to a get around the piers. I'm using 2 pieces to wrap the piers: one around the pier walls and one around the bottom that I'll tape together. I modeled how the pieces would wrap around circular and square piers to get it right. 2. Took 2-3 days to clear out the debris from new construction and leveling out the crawlspace. I pushed the clods up against the wall edges. 3. Plannng to keep drain pipes on top of barrier to the extent practical. 4. There are some wood supports that are up against the foundation walls that I plan to go around so they will be inside-above the encapsulated area rather than underneath. 5. I'll cut the long pieces before taking them down into the crawlspace of course. But I'm not cutting across where the piers are until I have it in the crawlspace. We'll see how that works out. 6. Tyvek suits, good dust mask, gloves, and goggles are a must. I had a lot of dirt mounds from the recent remodel that needed leveling with a small pick and small army style shovel. Too many clods to break up so I pushed them to the edges. 7. The foundation wall heights are not consistent so I'm just picking a line height and going straight across.
My order came within 2 days! The Diamond Product comes in a roll which was easy to handle and move around. I ordered two rolls of the 1300+ft diamond which was installed over a std 6 mil poly. The product is very tough and looks great inside a crawlspace. My application was on a new home and all the subs were really impressed at how clean plus how strong the application was. Overall, I was very pleased at the product and pricing.
This is a thick plastic, really strong. It is easier to start with walls and let the VB cover about 1-2 feet on the ground then lay the ground pieces and tape the seams. Use heavy duty scissors. Plan and cut your pieces and plan on how to unroll to make the install easier. Great stuff!
I just had my basement walls parged. The stucco is clean and dry but this tape would barely stick to it. It's a waste of money. Use the foundation pins and seal with the caulk instead.
We used the 2 sided foundation seam tape to install heavy 20mil vapor barrier over several days onto dry foundation walls. It was 4 days from our first wall panel installation until we did all the pins at the end. We had NO panels fall off the wall while finishing. TIP: Take a cheaper tape like duck tape and use it like a lint roller to remove dust and loose bits before applying the tape. It was super helpful once we thought to do it.
