I was amazed that this tape stuck fast to my concrete blocks and didn't come loose when attaching the wall vapor barrier. This product is well worth the money.

Foundation Tape

Pros:
Cons:
This tape was amazing and was easy to apply and held the 12mm encapsulation material with no problem. I did the project when I had time in the schedule and had to leave the job with only the tape holding the barrier for two weeks before I could install the foundation pins and it continued to stick and hold without failure. Great product!

This foundation seal tape is very good at sticking to everything. You can pull it tight and it doesn't rip. Makes it easy to hang your sheets of plastic. I used silver back 20mil and didn't get back in the crawl for a couple days to get the foundation pins in. When I got back to it. Everything was still stuck to the wall. Durability is unknown, I've only had it up a couple of weeks. The wall has to be pretty clean for it to stick but doesn't have to be spotless.

We had to remove a few pins for my drilling quite deep enough, drill again, and reinstall.

TIP: We rented a hammer drill to make this happen and it worked amazing compared to using a motar bit in our regular drill. Such a time saver!

BONUS TIP: If you have space and a helper run a shopvac and place the tip about an inch below the drill spot for instant cleanup.

Pros:
  • Adheres well to barrier material
  • Stores well
  • Easy to pull off roll and apply.
Cons:
  • Expensive
I had a roll from a previous project completed over two years ago. Dug it out of hiding, and came off the roll easily, held like it did when new. The best tape I've found to work with heavy vapor barrier installation. Yes, it's pricy, but consider having to go back into the crawl space to repair seams that came loose. Once is enough in my opinion.
